Education is not merely the exchange of information. Rather, it is the foundation on which students may build their future careers and lives. Training void of confidence building, critical thinking, and self-awareness diminishes the fullest potential of an education. While job security and career assurance are not guaranteed outcomes of an education, a more informed and humane population can be. I have always stated, “If, as a dance teacher, I produce well trained dancers, but fail to yield great human beings, then I have failed both the art of dance and the human race.”
